What is Next.js SaaS Starter?
Every SaaS product needs the same foundation: user authentication, subscription billing, a database, a user-facing dashboard, and some way to manage it all from an admin panel. Building this infrastructure from scratch takes experienced teams 3–6 weeks before they can write a single line of actual product code. The Next.js SaaS Starter is that foundation, pre-built and production-hardened. It's used by 630+ developers as the starting point for real, revenue-generating SaaS products. Auth is handled by Supabase — email/password, magic links, and Google OAuth all included. Billing runs on Stripe — subscriptions, webhooks, customer portal, and plan gating all wired up. The database schema is in Postgres via Supabase with Row Level Security policies so your data is protected by default. Clone it, add your product features, and ship.
Everything in the package.
Supabase Authentication
Email/password signup and login, magic link auth, Google OAuth, password reset flows, and email verification — all configured out of the box.
Stripe Subscription Billing
Monthly and annual plans, webhook handlers for all lifecycle events, Stripe Customer Portal, and plan-based feature gating middleware.
Postgres Database Schema
Production-ready schema for users, subscriptions, and teams. Row Level Security policies on every table. Supabase migrations included.
User Dashboard
Authenticated dashboard shell with sidebar navigation, account settings page, billing management page, and notification preferences.
Admin Panel
Internal admin interface to view all users, manage subscriptions, impersonate accounts for support, and monitor key metrics.
Marketing Landing Page
A conversion-ready public landing page with hero, features, pricing table, and FAQ — linked directly to the auth and billing flows.
Email Templates
Welcome email, magic link, password reset, and trial expiry reminder — built with React Email and ready to send via Resend or SendGrid.
Deployment Config
Vercel deployment config, environment variable templates, Supabase project setup guide, and Stripe webhook registration steps.
Built for production, not demos.
Next.js 14 App Router
Built on the latest Next.js App Router with server components, server actions, and streaming. Not legacy Pages Router — this is the architecture that scales.
Row Level Security by Default
Every Supabase table has RLS policies enabled. Users can only ever read and write their own data — even if you forget to add a server-side check.
Plan Gating Middleware
Middleware function that checks subscription status and plan tier before serving protected routes. Redirects to billing page if subscription has lapsed.
TypeScript End-to-End
Full TypeScript from database types (generated from Supabase schema) through to UI components. No implicit any, no runtime type surprises.
Team / Multi-Tenant Support
The database schema supports both individual and team-based SaaS models. Switch between single-user and multi-tenant mode with a config flag.
Dark Mode + Responsive
Built on Tailwind CSS with a dark/light mode toggle. Every page is fully responsive from mobile (320px) to wide desktop (1920px).
Who is this for?
Developers, indie hackers, and product teams who want to skip the boilerplate and ship faster.
Solo Founders Shipping Their First SaaS
Stop rebuilding auth and billing from scratch. This boilerplate gives you the infrastructure — spend your first month on the feature that makes your product different.
Agencies Delivering SaaS Products to Clients
Use this as your agency's internal SaaS foundation. Deliver client projects faster, maintain consistency across codebases, and hand off clean, documented code.
Developer Teams Replacing Legacy Boilerplates
If your current starter is on Next.js 12, Pages Router, or using Passport.js — this is the modern replacement. App Router, Supabase, and Stripe v4.
Hackathon Teams Needing a Head Start
Clone it Friday, have auth and billing running by Saturday morning, and spend the rest of the hackathon building the actual product.

Common questions.
Is this actually production-ready or just a tutorial project?
It's production-ready. 630+ developers are using versions of this starter in live, revenue-generating SaaS products. RLS is on, types are strict, webhooks are verified, and error handling is included throughout.
Can I swap Supabase for PlanetScale or another database?
You can, but it requires replacing the auth layer and ORM. Supabase is deeply integrated (auth + database + RLS together). Swapping it is possible but not a 30-minute job.
Does it support multi-tenancy / teams?
Yes — the schema has an organisations table and team membership model. It's behind a feature flag so you can run it as a single-user SaaS first, then enable teams when you need them.
What's the deployment cost?
Vercel free tier works for most early-stage SaaS. Supabase free tier handles up to 50,000 MAU. You'll only need to pay when you have paying customers — which is the right time to pay for infrastructure.
Do I need a Stripe account and Supabase account before I can run this?
Yes — the README covers exactly what to set up in both dashboards before running the project locally. It takes about 30 minutes to get both configured.
Need something custom-built?
Want this starter extended with custom features — a specific business logic layer, white-labelling, a mobile app, or integration with your existing infrastructure? Our team has built 100+ SaaS products on this exact stack. We can customise this starter or build your full SaaS from scratch.
