Overview
QR Code Generator creates high-resolution, customisable QR codes directly in the browser. A user picks what to encode โ a URL, plain text, or WiFi credentials โ styles the code with brand colours and an optional centre logo, then downloads it as a crisp PNG or scalable SVG.
It is aimed at small businesses, event organisers, and marketers who need print-ready codes for posters, menus, packaging, and business cards without paying for a subscription QR service that could deactivate the code later.
The problem
Free online QR tools are cluttered with ads, watermark the output, or route codes through a tracking redirect that can expire or be switched off. QR Code Generator produces a clean, static code the user fully owns โ no redirect, no expiry, no account.
Who it's for
- Small businesses adding QR codes to menus, flyers, and packaging.
- Event and venue organisers sharing links, WiFi, or check-in pages.
- Marketers and designers who need brand-coloured codes with a logo.
Features
Multiple content types
Encode a URL, free text, or WiFi network credentials so a phone can join the network on scan.
Colour customisation
Set the foreground and background colours to match a brand while keeping the code within safe scannable contrast.
Logo embed
Drop a logo into the centre of the code with automatic error-correction so it still scans reliably.
PNG and SVG download
Export a high-resolution PNG for quick use or an SVG that scales to any print size without blurring.
Live preview
The code re-renders instantly as content and styling change, so what you see is exactly what downloads.
User stories
- As a cafe owner, I want to generate a QR code for my menu URL so that I can print it on table tents.
- As an event host, I want to encode my WiFi network so that guests can connect by scanning a poster.
- As a designer, I want to set brand colours and add a logo so that the code matches the rest of the collateral.
- As a user, I want to download an SVG so that the code stays sharp when printed large.
User flow
- 1
Choose content type
The user selects URL, text, or WiFi and fills in the relevant fields.
- 2
Style the code
Colours and an optional centre logo are applied, with the preview updating live.
- 3
Check scannability
The live preview confirms the code scans before download; contrast is kept within safe limits.
- 4
Download
The user exports a PNG or SVG and uses it anywhere โ no account or follow-up needed.
Architecture
A client-side single-page app with no backend. The QR matrix is generated in the browser from the user's input, so no data or link is ever sent to a server.
Rendering runs through a QR library onto a canvas for PNG export and is composed as vector paths for SVG export, giving both raster and scalable output from the same source.
Because everything is static, the app deploys as files on any CDN and has effectively zero running cost.

FAQ
Do the codes expire or need my server?
No. They are static codes that encode your content directly, so they keep working forever with no backend.
Will a logo stop the code from scanning?
No. Error correction is raised when a logo is added so the code stays reliably scannable.
Can I use the codes commercially?
Yes. You own the generated codes outright and can print them on any commercial material.
Can it batch-generate many codes?
Single-code generation ships by default; CSV batch generation can be added as a scope extension.
